Summer 2022 Banquet
Congratulations to our 2022 Rookie of the Year (ROY), Sky Henderson; and our 2022 Lifeguard of the Year (LOY), Franklin Falls! Your commitment to keeping the beach safe and helping others is nothing less than admirable!
In addition, we added the Most Improved Lifeguard Award this year. Dalton Gay, a second year guard, was award the 2022 Most Improved Lifeguard, his growth and maturation could not go unrecognised. We are extremely proud of Dalton’s growth both on and off the beach.
Thank you to all our guards; you have all done a tremendous job representing what it means to be a Duck Surf Rescue Lifeguard!
Awarded Guards
Rookie of the Year, Sky, is majoring in Landscape Agriculture at the University of Florida. She plans to graduate in the Spring of 2025 and hopes to work for the Nation Park Service doing large-scale environmental planning.
Lifeguard of the Year, Franklin, is a junior at James Madison University majoring in International Business. He is planning on graduating in the Spring of 2024.
Most Improved Lifeguard, Dalton, is a senior at Currituck County High School where he is on the wrestling team. After graduation, he plans on attending college and major in Business Marketing.
